The Food Co-op is seeking a FT Cook to join the Food Services Team! We’re looking for reliable, flexible team-members, and we encourage you to apply!
The COOK, under the supervision of the Food Services Manager, the Food Services TL, and the direction of the Kitchen Lead, contributes to team and store goals for sales, margin, and productivity by being responsible for the production of healthy natural foods for sale in the deli and the grab-n-go case, including soups, salads, entrees, sauces, etc. This position contributes to team and store optimal operations such as customer satisfaction, sales goals, productivity and margins by producing high quality food and assisting with menu planning, costing of recipes, placing orders for ingredients and coordinating kitchen production activities.
Minimum Requirements include: 1 year of successful relevant experience in commercial food preparation or related field; 3 years of experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment; experience training others in safe operations preferred.
Regular Full Time Hourly; $19.50 - $28.47, DOE

General duties include providing excellent customer service and working with the Food Service team to achieve store goals for sales, margin, and productivity by producing and assisting with the preparation of food, washing and sanitizing dishes & food preparation areas, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and deli. Keeping the hot bar/salad bar, deli cases, grab-and-go cases, and deli areas well merchandised, clean and welcoming.
Minimum Requirements: Valid Food Worker Card issued in WA or the ability to acquire one within two weeks of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: 6 months of successful, relevant experience in a kitchen, restaurant, deli, grocery, retail environment, commercial food preparation, or related field. Customer service experience and experience operating commercial kitchen equipment. Previous natural foods experience is helpful.

The Food Co-op is seeking a Full-Time Meat and Seafood Preparer to join the Meat & Seafood bunch! We’re looking for reliable, flexible team-members, and we encourage you to apply!
The Meat & Seafood Preparer provides friendly, knowledgeable customer service to shoppers. Receives, unpacks and stocks meat, poultry and seafood products and maintains the cleanliness and safety of the store. This position contributes to team and store goals for sales, margin, and productivity by providing service and ensuring the fresh and bulk frozen meat displays are stocked and well maintained. Responsible for re-ordering, receiving, packaging and pricing products.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: HS diploma or equivalent, experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis. Valid Food Worker Card issued in WA or acquire within 2 weeks of hire.
Experience:
Experience operating commercial meat slicers or grinders strongly preferred.
6 or more months of relevant experience in customer focused p osition strongly preferred.
1year of successful relevant experience in commercial food preparation or related field preferred. Natural and/or organic foods experience helpful.
