Borrow More. Buy Less. Build Community.

July/August Beans for Bags Spotlight

What if the tool you need is already waiting for you? Discover how the Community Tool Library is making home projects more affordable, accessible, and community-powered—one borrowed tool at a time.

The JeffCo Community Tool Library is based on the idea that we don't all need to own all the things and that, through sharing, we can build community! This resource provides tools and other useful items for the public to borrow when needed. There are often many barriers to using and owning tools - they are expensive, large to store, and hard to maintain if you're not familiar - the library helps to mitigate that for community members. Plus, there is always that pesky tool you need for the project you're working on, but you will never touch it again!

Located at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, we currently have over 700 tools available to borrow. We have tools from food dehydrators and moving blankets to table saws and live animal traps, plus niche tools like a house floor jack! As we round the corner to our first anniversary, we are excited to keep growing and evolving. Funds like this will help us acquire tools the community has expressed a need for and establish a more robust education program to do things like show people how to use these tools!
