BOARD UPDATE
Hello Co-op members,
I’d like to share some updates about the search for the next general manager. We’ve continued working with a recruiter and a hiring consultant to ensure that we’re going through the process in a fair and effective way. There are several stages, and we continue to have candidates working through different stages of the process.
The first stage is evaluation by our recruiter and consultant, who have brought us candidates based on the qualifications and job description we developed. Thank you to everyone who provided input, it was invaluable for us to reflect on and incorporate. The next stage is for the Hiring Committee to review and interview candidates. That began last month, and we have more interviews scheduled in the coming month. The goal is to use those interviews to narrow down to 2-3 finalist candidates, who will be invited out to Port Townsend (if they’re not local), and have additional interviews.
While hiring remains one of the most significant areas of focus for the Board, there are other items on our plate. Board elections begin at the Annual General Meeting, and we’re excited to have three candidates running. Additionally, we’re reviewing the policies that outline the relationship between the Board and GM, so that we’re clear-eyed and prepared for the coming changes. We’re also looking at our own code of conduct, and how we hold ourselves accountable to it.
Thank you for being part of the Co-op!
Warmly,
ocean mason, Board President
