Jan/Feb Beans for Bags Spotlight: Jumping Mouse Children’s Center

Jumping Mouse Children’s Center has been transforming lives through expressive mental health therapy since 1999. Children ages three to twelve come to Jumping Mouse on a weekly basis for as long as necessary. Because we are the only organization that offers mental health care to children as young as three, there aren’t any alternatives for many of our families. Our model is child-led, so whether they choose to do sand tray work or play outside, their needs are put first. We bill insurance, including state Medicaid. To prevent weekly therapy from becoming a financial burden, we waive the copay for many of our families. Your support offsets this cost.

For 2024, we look forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary, reinstating our beloved Hearts in Bloom Gala (March 23rd) for the first time since the pandemic, bolstering the support we give to educators in the community, and hiring additional therapists. Thank you for supporting mental health care for Jefferson County kids!

When our family worked with Jumping Mouse, it helped us all. Not only did my son have relationship with and support from his therapist, my wife and I were given support and resources to become more compassionate and communicative parents. Our time at Jumping Mouse will continue to affect us for years to come, in our home, at school and when we interact with others.
