VENDOR FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not listed, please email us at newvendor@foodcoop.coop.

  • You will receive a confirmation when your form has been submitted. A member of our staff will email you within 14 business days about selling your product at the Food Co-op,

  • The Co-op will respond to you within 30 days of receiving the complete packet. Please contact us if it has been 30 days and you have not heard back from us.

  • Ship your samples with a carrier who offers verification or drop them off at 414 Kearney Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368. Samples should only be dropped off at the receiving entrance, Monday thru Friday 8 am -5 pm. Please do not deliver samples inside the store.

  • We prefer receiving products through a wholesale distributor, because this allows for greater efficiency in ordering and receiving the products and processing invoices and payment. However, we understand that wholesale distribution is not the best fit for everyone, and the need to deliver or ship directly to us does not disqualify your product from consideration.

  • Each distributor has its own criteria, which the Co-op is not involved in. Please contact them directly.

  • We look at products with a wide variety of considerations. The product(s) must meet or exceed our product guidelines, it must be a product that customers will want to buy at a reasonable price. The Food Co-op will also look at the availability, how the product is packaged, how it will be delivered and category in which the product belongs.

  • Yes, six months following the original submission.

  • Since we work with over 100 vendors, we use an electronic format called Gateway to keep track of orders. If your products are accepted, we will follow up with more information on this system.

  • Send your application as described in the new vendor packet and we will make sure it goes to the right department manager. The only place we ask you to list the department is in labeling sample(s). Please just use your best guess as to which is the likely department. Our store has the following departments: grocery, deli (includes cheese), meat, produce (including floral and garden), and wellness.

  • Unfortunately, no. We have over 100 staff, and we want to help you get your application and samples to the right person in a timely fashion.

  • While it may seem that way, department managers at the Co-op have many responsibilities. We have created this process to make it easier for them to bring in new products. Please help us help them get your product into the Co-op by following our application process.
