Growing Good, Together: GROW Fund Applications Open August 1
Using the interest generated by our participation in the Cooperative Community Fund, The Food Co-op will offer small grants to qualifying, local nonprofits to help them grow a healthy community.
Our grants are focused on the four pillars of community sharing:
Improving food access
Sustainable agriculture (both land and sea stewardship)
Healthy kids, families and animals
Supporting the cooperative model
Application process for the 2026 year will be open from August 1-31.
Non-Profits, Cooperative and Community groups are encouraged to apply.

Here is an update from the 2025 recipients - Bayside Housing & Services
On most days of the year, Bayside Housing & Services prepares hot meals for people (most of them chronically homeless) who use the Jefferson County Emergency Shelter—the county’s only night-by-night shelter, located in the basement of the American Legion building in downtown Port Townsend. Each evening meal varies but generally features a hot entrée with sides such as a green salad or hot vegetable dish, accompanied by rolls and butter. The images tell the story:

Greens grown by Bayside’s gardeners are often provided as a side, with dressing.
Janice Camfield, a member of Bayside’s Board of Directors, loads trays of food into her car trunk for the trip from Port Hadlock (where Bayside is located) to the Jefferson County Emergency Shelter.
Bayside has provided over 85,000 hot meals since it began operations in 2016. All of us at Bayside Housing & Services are grateful to the Food Co-op’s Grow Fund for helping us sustain this critical service.
