Important Store News!

By Kenna Eaton, GM of The Food Co-op

Likely by now you’ve noticed the water running in the parking lot from the previously repaired area to the storm drain. We’ve called back the team that worked on it earlier in the year to re-open the area and see what is happening now.

The repair crew will be back in our parking lot on Tuesday July 18th, to dig it up and see what the issue is now. Just like last time we know that when the water main has to be shut off to complete the repair work, we will have to close the store, until it is turned back on again. This means a short turnoff to assess the cause of the leak, causing us to close temporarily. And then we will close a second time for the actual repair work.

For those of you who were here earlier in the year, you’ll remember that the first water off event shouldn’t last long, but the second will require more time. Hopefully it can be repaired right away, but at this time we don’t know when or for how long. No one will be allowed to shop during the repair work as health department regulations say we can’t be open unless we have hot, running water and functional bathrooms.

Again, we hope to give everyone as much notice as we can before we shut the store, and we hope it’s not for too long, but we will do whatever we need to do to get the problem fixed, and hopefully, in time to have the parking lot resealed on Tuesday August 8th.
