Winter Welcoming Center

The Winter Welcoming Center is operated by Jefferson Interfaith Action Coalition. They offer a socially distanced space from 8:30am - 12:30pm, 7 days a week, and longer when the weather is severe (ice, snow, heavy rain, wind and smoke). They are located in the Pope Marine Building, 100 Madison Street, Port Townsend.

They provide warmth, WiFi, use of computers, refreshments, and fellowship. They also distribute donated clothes, shoes, sleeping bags, and more to their guests {some of these items come from the clothing drop box that appears at The Co-op every November}. They have a commitment to inclusion and compassion to all who walk through their doors.

This is their fifth year of operation and are looking forward to helping more people in 2023…

As we emerge from the uncertainty of the pandemic, we are implementing new systems to manage inventory and strengthening our connections with other organizations to better serve our guests. With local housing and shelter options struggling to meet the growing demand, our daily client numbers are on the rise. We are pleased to have expanded our capacity to provide essential items such as food, hand warmers, and clothing, as well as shower tokens and laundry vouchers. Additionally, we are looking forward to collaborating with other non-profit organizations serving the community by hosting informational sessions and providing one-on-one support.
