New Local Highlight - Good Juju Ghee

Good Juju Ghee is a newly birthed woman-owned company based here in Port Townsend. Efan and Kristen, founders of Good Juju Ghee, fell in love with ghee the first time they tasted freshly made ghee, immediately noticing the nourishing quality and the deliciously deep flavors that are unique to homemade ghee.

This local ghee prides itself on quality ingredients and the slow and conscious process that goes into making the ghee. Using organic, cultured butter from pasture-raised cows, the ghee is made following traditional ancient Vedic methods. The ghee is made when the most benefic energy is present: when the moon is waxing, or on the full moon. This imbues the benefic energies of vitality and expansiveness into the ghee. Various healing mantras are also used during our ghee making process. Each jar of ghee is hand-poured and hand-labeled, bringing a uniqueness to each small batch of ghee that shines through in both taste and feeling.

After many years of making ghee in their home, Efan and Kristen began incorporating ghee into their daily meals. With guidance from a teacher of Ayurvedic science, they learned how to care for their digestion, which is seen in the ancient Indian wisdom as a main pillar of health. They both began to feel better each day in subtle ways, and over time experienced a deeper sense of health – one with staying power.

This experience lit a fire in them to share with their local community the delicious taste of homemade, small batch ghee and the experience of the deep nourishment and support of digestion that ghee provides to one’s overall health. With each drop of this golden elixir, they envision a community nourished and well.

Help take care of our precious planet! Return rinsed and empty jars to the co-op for a jar deposit. Good Juju Ghee will sanitize and reuse the jars in their production of more ghee for the community!
