Sunfield Land for Learning, Biodynamic Farm, Waldorf School and Community Education is a pioneering non-profit in Jefferson County. Sunfield’s conservation easement, secured in partnership with Jefferson Land Trust, protects twenty-six acres of forest, eight acres of wetlands, and forty-two acres of agricultural land in perpetuity.

We received our Biodynamic certification in 2016 and are excited to be partnering with the Food Bank Gardner’s, growing food for the Food Bank. This summer we will offer a U Pick berries inniative with discounted membership shares to members of the Food Bank.  Our farm provides sustainably grown biodynamic food to the local community through produce sales at our Farm Stand, the Port Townsend Food Co-op, the Chimacum Corner Farmstand and more.

Sunfield Waldorf School fosters the healthy development of the whole child through an innovative and richly artistic Waldorf curriculum.. Learning in this nurturing environment, each student is provided with the tools to become an individual with imaginative thought, an empathetic heart, and the confidence to positively shape his or her world.  Children who come to Sunfield are nourished deeply and take joy in the wonder of learning. The Waldorf movement is one of the fastest growing independent school movements in the world. Currently there are approximately 1000 Waldorf schools worldwide, and we are excited to be part of this important movement towards a more holistic education for our children. This September 2019, Waldorf Education celebrates 100 years!

Sunfield’s Community Education Program created  a ‘Visiting School’s Program’ in 2008.  We offer farm-based environmental education to visiting public and independent schools in the local area and from other Waldorf schools in the Pacific Northwest.

Sunfield Land for Learning is grateful to be a participant in the Food Coops Beans for Bags Program.  We look forward to distributing funds to our Biodynamic Farm, Waldorf School and our Community Education Program.

Please call us for more information, to schedule a tour and to meet our two Shetland Mama Sheep, Katrina & Kahlua who are expecting sweet baby lambs this Spring.
