CHOICES, CHOICES!
A Member Forum to educate, inform & empower

The Food Co-op hosted a member forum, "Choices, Choices!", at the P.T. Community Center on September 20, 2006. The forum was sponsored by The Food Co-op's Board of Directors and was facilitated by local resident Phil Dinsmore. This forum is the beginning of a much longer conversation about the products we sell in the store.

Our buyers (Deb Shortess, Merchandising Manager, Brendon O'Shea, Produce Buyer, and Liz Lindstrom, Wellness Buyer) introduced those that attended the forum to the language of grocery buying. What's the difference between a farmer and a producer? Who's the distributor? What is buying "direct"?
